2023 Statistical Revaluation
Rhode Island State Law mandates that cities and towns perform full revaluations of all classes of property every nine (9) years, with statistical updates of all property assessments during the intervening third and sixth years. Full revaluations involve the interior and exterior inspection, re-measurement, and photographs of all properties. Statistical revaluations involve only the inspection of properties that have sold within the previous twelve months. Sales are analyzed to determine new town-wide values.
Northeast Revaluation Group, LLC will begin the state-mandated statistical revaluation program for the Town of Narragansett. The reassessment project will establish market value as of December 31st, 2023, and will be reflected in the tax bills issued in the summer of 2024. The project will commence in the spring of 2023. Data collectors always carry a letter of identification from the Assessor’s Office, a photo ID badge and have their cars registered with the Police Department. All property owners and tenants are respectfully requested to cooperate with data collectors to ensure that accurate information is used in the revaluation process.
