At the entrance to Canonchet Farm, there is a grove of English Beech trees. Further into the park, closer to Pettaquamscutt Cove where the forest is much different, there is a stand of American Beech trees, "The Other Beech Grove". Come explore this area with Tom who has extensive knowledge of wooded uplands, meadows, coastal ponds and marsh. Please meet in the parking lot of South County Museum at the end of Strathmore Street which is off of Kingstown Road (Route 1A) in Narragansett. The walk will be held rain, shine or cold as the woods can be counted on to moderate the weather. For further information, call 783-3951.
