The Town of Narragansett is reminding all residents that Rabies vaccinations are required by law, after a confirmed case in the North end of Narragansett by The Rhode Island Department of Health.
Rabies vaccinations are required by law for all domestic animals including dogs, cats, and ferrets. People should not leave their animals outside unattended and should report any unusual sightings of target species animals (raccoon, skunk, fox, coyote, feral cats and bats).
We also advise to avoid any contact at all with wildlife, we also discourage contact with stray animals, avoid feeding of all animals, and securely fasten any outdoor garbage containers.
