Guided Walk Sponsored by the Friends of Canonchet Farm
Jay Waller, Senior Archaeologist with Public Archaeology Laboratory, will lead a walk entitled "A Walk Through Time: The Pettaquamscutt River as Seen Through the Eyes of the Ancient Narragansett." This walk through Canonchet Farm focuses on Native American and Narragansett Indian occupation, land use, and resource collection within southern Rhode Island's coastal zone and interior environments. The walk, open to the public free of charge, will be held rain or shine on November 13, 2011 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm and leave from the Anne Hoxsie Lane entrance to the property directly across from the Narragansett Town Beach South Pavilion. Thanks to the Narragansett Tree Society, the trail is in excellent condition with boardwalks crossing wet or stony areas. For information, call 783-3951.
