[ARCHIVED] COVID-19 Vaccination Program

Adults over the age of 75 years will begin getting vaccinated as of Sunday, January 31st 2021. 

 

Please be advised that the state has been divided into five regional closed points of dispensing (PODs) for COVID-19 vaccine administration for some priority groups.  This commenced on Monday December 28th, 2020. As Closed PODs, they will only be accessible to a specific targeted population as set forth by the Rhode Department of Health (RIDOH).  

Phase-1of Rhode Island’s COVID-19 Vaccination Program is now expanding to include the 75 and older age group.

In order to be vaccinated at these PODs, individuals must register beforehand – walk-ins will not be permitted.   Individuals must be 75 years of age or older. 

 

The five PODs will be located in the following regions:

  • Northern (Smithfield)
  • Capital (Providence)
  • Easy Bay (Bristol)
  • Mid-State (East Greenwich)
  • Southern (South Kingstown)  1157 South Rd., Wakefield - South Rd. Elementary School

 

Narragansett will be utilizing the South Rd. Regional POD site in Wakefield for our 75+ population.  The Moderna COVID-19 vaccine will be administered at these PODs. Information on the Moderna vaccine can be found here: https://www.modernatx.com/covid19vaccine-eua/

 

VACCINATION ELIGIBILITY AND REGISTRATION

In order to be vaccinated at these PODs, individuals must meet the following requirements:

  • 75 years of age or older
  • Resident of the town
  • Individuals will be randomly selected from the town’s data base, contacted by town staff and then registered via phone within RIDOH’s online scheduling system.  

 

Only individuals who meet the above requirements will be allowed entry to a POD (the
