[ARCHIVED] Narragansett Press Release

NARRAGANSETT, RI (Sunday, March 29, 2020) -- Following the Executive Orders of Gov. Gina Raimondo, the Town of Narragansett is directing all out-of-state travelers and seasonal residents to self-quarantine upon arriving in the Town for a period of two (2) weeks.

Homeowners and seasonal residents travelling from any state are directed to stay inside and self-quarantine for two (2) weeks. All travelers visiting from any locations with confirmed cases of COVID-19, or from COVID-19 “hot spots” or who may have come in contact with anyone exhibiting flu-like symptoms are also directed to self-quarantine immediately. Follow the Governor’s Executive Orders.

With a large population of seasonal and part-time residents, we are acutely aware of the potential for community spread associated with interstate travel. Anyone who is visiting or residing temporarily in Narragansett from locations with a “Shelter in place order” in effect are directed to place themselves in self-quarantine immediately for a period of two (2) weeks and to monitor themselves daily for any flu-like symptoms, including fever, nausea, body aches and sore throats or coughs.

The Town of Narragansett is directing all residents to stay-in-place unless traveling to work, medical treatment, or to obtain necessities. Town residents may still go outside to exercise and get fresh air, however, they must practice social distancing while outside and avoid touching surfaces frequently touched by others. We are continuing to respond to guidance provided by the Rhode Island Department of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Governor’s Office and further restrictions are possible.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work together to tackle this COVID-19 pandemic.

PLEASE COMPLY! Compliance is critical to our success.
