Due to COVID-19 concerns and the safety of staff and taxpayers, data collectors will no longer inspect the interior of residential properties.
Data collectors will: put a new information door hanger on the front door, knock to alert the homeowner, step away and proceed to measure the exterior in the standard fashion
Timing to be decided, Northeast will send interior data verification letters to all properties that have not had a physical interior inspection.
Northeast will review all verification letter responses and will make changes as appropriate. Same situation applies for any changes made through the web portal.
Property owners that have concerns about a particular interior issue, or feel that there should be an interior inspection, will be encouraged to send in photographs in lieu of the interior inspection. Northeast will also conduct a phone interview for property owners that need assistance.
