The Department of Environmental Management (DEM) and the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) have announced that the state will begin aerial mosquito treatments weather permitting. All spraying will occur in the evening and overnight hours. The application will treat the four areas that the state Mosquito-Borne Disease Advisory Group (MBDAG) has assessed to be at critical risk for the Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) virus. Narragansett has not been targeted as one of those critical areas based upon state coordinated mosquito trappings and testing.
