ANNOUNCEMENT
TOWN OF NARRAGANSETT HOME REPAIR PROGRAM
The Town of Narragansett is pleased to announce the availability of grant funding for the repair of single family owner occupied houses. A wide variety of repairs are eligible including roof, heating system, electrical upgrades, insulation, door and window replacement, bathroom work, septic systems and more. The funding cannot be used for cosmetic/luxury improvements or expansion of the building footprint.
The funds are required to benefit households of low to moderate income, see additional info below for details.
Ultimately federal money, work performed using these funds is subject to review by the RI Historical Preservation and Heritage Commission (if applicable), the Coastal Resource Management Commission and must result in a Lead Safe Certificate if painted surfaces are disturbed and the house is pre-1978 in construction. Homes located in a 100 year Flood Zone must have flood insurance.
