Narragansett EMA and South Kingstown EMA have created a joint community emergency response team, commonly referred to as a CERT team to volunteer to help the community during disasters, emergencies and other events. These teams help out with emergency shelter operations, HAM radio communications, Mass Dispensing PODs and other assistance when called upon. In exchange for volunteering your time you are given free training from local and state first responders from all over RI. Our volunteers have received free CPR/AED, First Aid, CERT and other great training which normally costs lots.
If this sounds like something you are interested in, please join us on Monday, September 14th at 5:30 PM at the South Kingstown Public Safety Complex. You will meet local officials from both Narragansett and South Kingstown and hear all about how you can become part of this team.
