[ARCHIVED] Volunteers Needed:

The Narragansett Emergency Management Agency is currently seeking to recruit community members interested in volunteering to help during emergencies. Natural disasters, biological threats and other community hazards seem to be occurring with increasing frequency and Narragansett has seen its fair share in the past few years. From Hurricane Irene to Hurricane Sandy and Blizzard Nemo, natural and other events can place a strain on municipal resources and first responders. Having a robust core of community volunteers to help support our EMA will strengthen the ability to respond to the needs of the town.

Citizens who are interested in volunteering will be offered the opportunity to attend training on topics such as Community Emergency Response, Incident Command Systems, Shelter Operations, Medical Emergency Distribution Systems, First Aid/CPR and many more. Most of these trainings are offered at no-cost to the volunteers and are a great opportunity to improve personal skills or even gain knowledge towards advancement in a new career!

Join us on Monday, January 27th from 5-8pm at the Narragansett Community Center, 53 Mumford Road for more information about our agency and how to volunteer.
