This workshop will provide the public with another opportunity to weigh in on the issues that the Town of Narragansett is facing as it plans for its future. The feedback received from this workshop will inform the Town’s direction as it drafts policies that will impact neighborhoods, parks, open space, town services, and economic development over the next 10 years.
The evening will open with a brief project status report, then focus on two activities. First, how well do you really know Narragansett? Test your knowledge of the Town with local trivia. Is the population increasing or decreasing? How many people visit during the summer each year? Who is the largest employer? Using remote keypads, participants will enter their responses and get instant results on how well the group overall actually knows the town.
Second, what are the critical issues? Working in small groups, participants will discuss critical issues and how they might affect Narragansett in the future. Discussion topics will include:
Getting Around Town – Driving, Walking and Biking
Housing and Neighborhoods
Public Spaces and Facilities
Business Development and Tourism
Natural and Cultural Resources
A facilitator will lead each group to develop a refined list of specific concerns that require policies and actions by the town in order to maintain and enhance the quality of life for Narragansett residents. Each group will then report out their concerns to the larger group and receive feedback.
We hope you will be able to join us. Snacks and refreshments will be served. If you have any questions, please contact Mike DeLuca, Community Development Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org, or Krista Moravec, Project Consultant, at email@example.com.
