The Narragansett Historical Society is very pleased to announce the publication, "History of Narragansett, RI, from 1800-1999 - A Chronology of Major Events." This publication aims to spur interest and further research into Narragansett's rich history. Professor Richard Vangermeersch will present "Learnings from a Chronology: Interesting Tidbits from Narragansett's History." Conversation and exchange of ideas will be encouraged. The presentation will be facilitated by Sue Bush. The presentation is scheduled for Saturday, March 25th from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM at the Maury Loontgens Memorial Library. This event is co-sponsored by the Maury Loontgens Memorial Library and The Narragansett Historical Society. Attendance is free, but registration is requested.

On Pettaquamscutt: Presentations of the Environment and the History of the Narrow River Watershed presents local historian, preservation advocate and columnist Tim Cranston discussing "Industry along the Pettaquamscutt." Cranston will tell us about the historic mills at Silver Spring, Shady Lea and Gilbert Stuart. Space is limited and participants are requested to register to reserve a seat at the library calendar and registration site (http://www.narlib.org).
