National Fire Prevention Week is October 5 - 11, 2014

Fire Safety Contest
As always, the Narragansett Fire Department continues to remain committed to reducing the loss of life and property from fire.

The National Fire Protection Association’s (NFPA) theme is:
“WORKING SMOKE ALARMS SAVE LIVES; TEST YOURS EVERY MONTH.”


The Narragansett Fire Department’s Fire Prevention and Education Division would like to announce a school district wide fire safety contest. More Info

Activities will include:

District wide Fire Drill
, Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at 10 a.m.; if inclement weather, the alternate date is Wednesday, October, 15, at 10 a.m.

District wide Poster Contest (must reflect NFPA Theme) - “Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives; Test Yours Every Month” Entry Form Poster Criteria
(Elementary School- Grades K through 4: A 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner will be selected from each grade level)

District wide Fire Safety Essay Contest - “Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives; Test Yours Every Month” Entry Form Essay Criteria
(Middle/High School- Grades 5 through 12: A 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner will be selected from each grade level)

All winners will receive a certificate and ribbon, among other prizes. The 1st place winners will receive a T-Shirt and have their artwork displayed and posted on our Fire Department’s websites to help promote Fire Prevention Week.

The deadline for submitting to the contests will be Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at 4 p.m.
